Stereology is the discipline concerned with the quantification of structures in 3D. It is about quantitative estimates of the amount of a morphological feature within the objects of interest. The feature available for quantification are object number, lenght surface areas and volumes. Our service provides helps to biomedical scientists in academic laboratories, government agencies and private industries for stereological analyses of tissue sections. Examples of common uses of stereology include performing cell counts, counting numbers of blood vessels, and estimating volumes of brain areas or other objects. We use various stereology techniques such as the Optical Dissector to count objects and the Cavalieri method to measure volumes.
