Dopamine Beta Hydroxylase

Dopamine Beta Hydroxylase (DBH) is the enzyme responsible for the conversion of dopamine into noradrenaline and is used as a marker of noradrenergic fibers. It is localized primarily in the membrane of the amine storage granules of the brain, sympathetically innervated tissue, sympathetic ganglia, and adrenal medulla. The DBH antibody is widely used as a marker of noradrenergic neurons to study several functions and dysfunctions including arousal, attention, depression and schizophrenia.
